Women's Exercise Class

Church Work Day - August 29

Youth "Back to School Bash" - August 23
This is an event for all youth and parents. We will have a cookout at the Fuller home with some fun from 4-8:00 pm on Sunday, Aug 23. Bring school supplies to donate, and wear clothes that can get dirty.
Making Peace Retreat - August 21 through 23
Here is a time away on a guided retreat to refresh your spiritual life, make some deeply supportive relationships, deal with the issues that trouble you, and grow in your ability to have healthy relationships. Pick up a brochure in the lobby or call the office (848-5017) to have one mailed to you. There is a follow-up small group that will help you apply what you learn and experience. Kids Night Out – NO PARENTS ALLOWED!!
Parents, you may have an evening to do as you like on Friday, Aug 21 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Just drop off your child or children so they may have an evening of watching a movie, playing games and maybe a craft after we have dinner together. We will provide a choice of sandwiches or you may bring your child a bag dinner. We ask that you sign up for this evening no later than Aug 16 to ensure we have enough helpers. Please sign up at the Children's Ministry table Aug 9 through Aug 16.
4:19 Mountain Top Experience - August 14 through 17
The youth are headed to the mountains Friday, Aug 14 through Monday, Aug 17 to learn about prayer in the life of our community, take a long bike ride without peddling, hike in the beauty of God's creation, witness some wild, wacky ways of relating to God and each other, along with some good food. The cost is $70 which includes meals from Saturday breakfast to Monday lunch, bike rental, lodging & materials. Transportation will be arranged by parents. The caravan will leave Friday at 3:00 pm and return Monday at 7:00 pm. We want all youth (including rising 6th graders) to go, so let us know how to make it possible. NCC Lake Day - August 9
People of all ages and sizes are invited to our Lake Day. Bring something to grill, a side item, and a 2 liter drink with enough to share. We will have ice, paper products, and some tea. We'll relax, swim, boat and play some games. The park charges $5 per vehicle to enter Sandling Beach, located off of Creedmoor Road (Hwy 50) a few miles north of Hwy 98. Bring your friends & neighbors!
Sunday Classes in August
We will have two classes for four Sundays in August (Aug. 9, 16, 23 & 30).
1. Bible Study: The Friendship Letters of the New Testament. These are short books filled with insights into the lives of the early church leaders. You'll get help with living as a Jesus follower in today's world also. This will be taught by Frank Green.
2. Basic Personal Finances: This class will cover basic principles about money from the Bible and very practical guidelines for setting up a personal or household budget. This will be taught by George Fuller and Karen Robinson, CPA.
If you desire child care during the class time, you will need to make a reservation by marking your Connection Card or calling the office 848-5017.
Youth Zoo Trip - July 31 through August 1
Our youth, including rising 6th graders, are going to visit the other animals at the NC Zoo Friday, July 31 through August 1. The cost is $25 which includes your ticket to the zoo, Friday supper, Saturday breakfast, and lodging. Bring cash for a meal on the return trip. Transportation will be arranged by parents. Sign up now! The caravan will leave at 4:30 pm on Friday. We will return to the parking lot at 7:30 pm on Saturday. Everyone is welcome to join the youth group at the zoo on Saturday. Cook's Night Off - July 24
New Community Church is sponsoring a Cook's Night Off and we are asking members to sell tickets. This is a great way for us to let the community know where we are located and a way for us to beat the economy. Every one eats even when money is tight and we have a GREAT deal on Carolina BBQ. There are two options which will fit every size household. $8.00 will buy a generous plate of Carolina style chopped pork, baked beans, cole slaw, rolls, tea & a finger dessert (cookie or dessert bar). $35.00 will purchase a ready-to-go pack of 32 oz. Carolina style chopped pork, 16 oz. of baked beans, 16 oz. of cole slaw, 8 rolls & 6 finger desserts (cookie or dessert bar) which is large enough to feed a family of 4-6.

Lunch and Business Meeting - July 19 after worship
We will have a fellowship meal after worship on July 19 followed by a business meeting. We will consider the ordination of Steven Fuller to the Gospel Ministry, a plan for meeting our financial needs, and the proposed changes to the by-laws. Bring a covered dish or two to share. Tea, water & coffee will be provided.
